The Bass Reeves Gun Club Historical Perspective Committee recently hosted its 2nd Annual Town Hall, bringing members and community leaders together for an open conversation about firearm safety, education, civic leadership, and community protection.
The discussion examined the historical relationship between African Americans and the Second Amendment while emphasizing that firearm ownership must be paired with responsibility, consistent training, secure storage, and sound judgment. Participants also discussed how education, technology, public policy, and stronger community partnerships can help create safer, better-informed neighborhoods.
A central message carried throughout the town hall: protecting our communities requires more than owning a firearm. It requires preparation, knowledge, accountability, and active involvement. BRGC remains committed to providing a space where these important—and sometimes uncomfortable—conversations can happen honestly..
