First Handgun Selection Clinic

On May 3 and 4, 2025, Bass Reeves Gun Club successfully hosted its first quarterly handgun selection clinic. The event was coordinated by Eric Murphy, with assistance from Larry Brown, Jr., Colin Mapp, Casandra Light, Justina Bryant, Nezida Davis, Kevin Beck, and Kia Glenn. On Saturday, May 3rd, Colin and Nezida conducted the virtual session during which they discussed factors to consider in purchasing a handgun, top guns purchased by men and women, and on and off the body concealed carry methods. On Sunday, May 4th, the 14 participants met at the range at South River Gun Club to shoot a variety of the most popular, top rated full, compact, and subcompact size 9mm handguns from different manufacturers, as well as a PCC, to help them make their choice of which handgun to consider for purchase.
