Hosted by the Historical Perspective Committee | June 28, 2025
On Saturday, June 28th, the BRGC Historical Perspective Committee (HPC) held its very first town hall during the chapter’s General Meeting. Centered on the theme “African Americans and Responsible Gun Ownership,” the event aimed to challenge stereotypes and reduce stigma surrounding Black gun ownership.
Moderated by HPC Lead Claudette “Ayo” Tolson, the powerful panel featured:
Colin Mapp, NAAGA National Director of Chapter Leadership and former BRGC President
Casandra Light, BRGC Vice President
Larry Brown, BRGC President
The discussion drew thoughtful engagement from both BRGC members and community leaders — including Georgia Black Legislative Caucus members Billy Mitchell, Jason Esteves, Doreen Carter, and Segun Adeyina.
Marcus Wheeler kept remote members connected by streaming the event live via Zoom, while Antonio Hicks captured the event on video for replay. If you missed it, you can watch the full recording here: Watch the Town Hall
With such strong participation and feedback, the HPC plans to make this an annual signature event. Stay tuned!
