BRGC Competitive Shooting Team

The BRGC Competitive Shooting Team, under the new leadership of Solomon Murray,

Shooting Team Director, will resume shooting team practices on the last Sunday of each

month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at South River Gun Club in Covington, GA. The next

shooting team practice is Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 10:00 am.

The competitive shooting team is comprised of two divisions.

1. The Static Shooting Division is composed of members who wish to shoot GSSF and STEEL CHALLENGE competitions. These competitions usually require shooting from a stationary position.

2. The Dynamic Shooting Division is composed of team members who wish to shoot IDPA, USPSA, 2-GUN, or 3- GUN. These competitions can include movement to engage targets when shooting. Team members can shoot in both divisions.

In order to be eligible to join the team, you:

1. must be a current NAAGA member;

2. must have attended BRGC's Virtual New Member Orientation Class (NMOC)

3. must have successfully completed Bootcamp I, BRGC's Basic Handgun class, or the

Handgun Basics with Intro to Competition class taught by Team Director Solomon

Murray (both of which include passing an untimed live fire shooting proficiency

qualification). 

To pass the shooting qualification, you must place at least 16 of 21 shots

in an 8-inch circle from a distance of 15 feet/5 yards. 

If you have not completed the NMOC, the next NMOC date is Saturday, June 7, 2025. 

If you have not completed a class, the next Handgun Basics with Intro to Competition

class is Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at South River Gun Club. The

next BRGC basic handgun class is scheduled for July 19-20, 2025.
