• Location: Sweetwater Creek State Park, 1750 Mount Vernon Road, Lithia Springs, GA 30122

• Date: Sunday, November 16, 2025

• Time: 9:30am-12:30pm

• Cost: $5 (Kiosk may be open at entrance; payment can also be made online at www.gastateparks.org )

• Difficulty: Moderate (lots of inclines and rocky ground)

• Distance: Approximately 5 miles

• Pace: Steady (approximately 20-25 minutes per mile)

• Are dogs permitted: Yes – must be on leash!

We will meet at the visitor center. The first two miles are mostly exposed to the sun and include a bit of a gravel

road. The last three miles of the trail are mostly wooded with overhead cover.

This is NOT a beginner hike! There are some steep up and downhill sections as well as slippery areas to navigate.

This is a hike where trekking poles or a walking stick would be useful.

We will stop as needed for water/snack breaks and to take pictures. Required items to bring:

• Comfortable walking shoes with good grip

• Trekking poles/walking stick

• Water

• Light jacket

• Hat/visor/sunglasses/sunscreen
